POKOTABI / Sankouen
三幸園
Just steps from Hirai Station, Sankouen is a sleek, white-toned yakiniku restaurant serving top-grade skirt steak, salted tongue, short ribs, offal, bibimbap, and comforting rice soups.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Set right by Hirai Station, Sankouen welcomes diners into an uncluttered, predominantly white dining space designed for leisurely yakiniku meals. Following a renovation, the interior feels fresh and clean, with generous tables that let groups spread out and dine in comfort. Touchscreens at each table make ordering seamless, allowing you to ask for additional cuts of meat or extra dining essentials at your own pace without flagging down staff.
The menu ranges from accessible everyday cuts to thick-sliced and premium selections. Highlights include jo-harami (special skirt steak) and shio-harami (salt-seasoned skirt steak), prized for their satisfying chew and concentrated beef flavor, alongside special salted tongue, kalbi short ribs, and loin, giving diners plenty of options depending on appetite and party size. A light, slightly sweet sauce complements the grilled meats nicely, keeping each bite balanced rather than heavy.
Offal lovers can opt for single orders like round intestine (marucho) or an assorted 4-variety platter. Beyond beef, the kitchen turns out classic Korean-style starters like mixed kimchi and namul, alongside hot mains such as dolsot stone-pot bibimbap and gukbap rice soups. Drinks span beer, highballs, and sake, making it an easy pick for family dinners and group outings; booking ahead for evening visits is recommended.
